Abstract: |
A watching brief was carried out during groundworks at a development site. A previous evaluation had revealed two possible early medieval pits and a post-medieval ditch. During the watching brief, early medieval rubbish pits containing pottery were recorded; one may have been a well. Post-medieval features included a ditch, a drain and 17th-19th century cess pits. Artefacts included a prehistoric flint flake, a complete glass phial containing tiny seeds, and pottery which appeared to form a post-medieval pharmaceutical assemblage. [AIP] |
