Abstract: |
Archaeological evaluation involving nine trial trenches was carried out in July 2000 ahead of gas pipe-laying. The site lay east of the present Wimpstone village next to the River Stour, and adjacent to an interrupted enclosure cropmark site. However, no evidence for archaeological features or finds was revealed during the course of the evaluation. Alluvial deposits and evidence for previous river erosion were revealed. [Au] |
