Abstract: |
In advance of the rebuilding of a ruined house within the grounds of Tor Down House, a thatched building dating from the 16th-17th century, the archaeological recording of the building was undertaken. It was probable that the ruined house preserved the main features of the layout of a 17th century farmhouse which was later abandoned in the late 18th century and subsequently re-occupied between 1861 and 1871.
