Abstract: |
The evaluation revealed a number of post-medieval features, including six bedding trenches, which ran parallel to each other on a roughly north-south alignment. These were presumably associated with market gardening, which played an important part in the local economy until the early 20th century. Some of the bedding trenches were cut by later features - a 19th century pit and a brick-lined soakaway fed by a ceramic pipe. [Au] |
