Abstract: |
Archaeological observation during the excavation of foundation trenches revealed no archaeological finds or features associated with either the medieval hamlet of Talton, the medieval manor house which may have existed on the site, or the undated burials that were recorded in the early 20th century. A 19th century well was uncovered and 18th and 19th century pottery was recovered from a large pit within which the well was sunk. The pit may have been a gravel quarry used during rebuilding or extending Talton House. [Au(abr)] |
