Abstract: |
The remains of two shafts, two open cast workings, an underground feature and an engine house associated with a 19th-century coal mine were recorded, as was a trackway leading to the former mine captain's house. Little could be established about past land use, probable water meadows were observed on the floodplain at the northern end of the route corridor. Evidence of ploughing was deduced from the poorly surviving trackway to the miners dwelling.[Au(abr)] |
