Abstract: |
Twenty-seven trenches were excavated. Several archaeological features were encountered, the majority defining two concentrations of remains. The north-west corner of the field contained a trackway, dated by material retrieved from its ditches to the prehistoric period, continuing into the Roman period, and three small pits containing burnt material, one of which was dated as early Iron Age. The other concentration was in the south-west corner of the field, consisting of several ditches and four small pits. The only dating evidence came from the two ditches, in the form of medieval material. [Au(adp)] |
