Abstract: |
The assessment was carried out in advance of a proposed redevelopment. There was no recorded evidence of prehistoric, Roman or medieval activity within the study area. No pre-20th century buildings survived on site. The study area underwent major changes in the late 19th century onwards, with the most significant changes occuring in the 1970's when the council offices were constructed. There might be potential foundations for earlier buildings remains within the study area. [Au(adp)] |
