Abstract: |
An evaluation took place in advance of the proposed redevelopment of the site for housing. Evidence from boreholes suggested that organic preservation at depth was good. Roman demolition debris suggested that a structure once stood nearby. Medieval structural remains of some complexity, comprising a ditch, wall and hearth complex, and possibly another wall were revealed, and two other walls were recognised as being of post-medieval date. Very little modern disturbance was identified on the site. [AIP] |
