Abstract: |
The evaluation consisted of twelve trenches each measuring 30m x\r\n1.9m in plan. No evidence for archaeological activity was revealed in any of the trenches. A limited number of artefacts, dating from various periods, were recovered from subsoil investigated in two of the trenches. These artefacts occurred in the subsoil as a result of deep ploughing and comprised worked flint, animal bone and a small quantity of pottery. It therefore appeared that the site had been in agricultural use since the medieval period or earlier, and had not been used for settlement. [Au(abr)] |
