Abstract: |
Evaluation trenches were excavated on either side of an access road within a residential development, in order to compensate for the fact that no archaeological monitoring had taken place during construction of the road. Earlier fieldwalking and evaluation of the site, followed by excavation, had revealed a Mesolithic occupation site and an early-middle Saxon settlement. During the 1996 evaluation, and monitoring of further groundworks, no archaeological artefacts or deposits were revealed. [AIP] |
