Abstract: |
An evaluation on the site of a proposed Tesco store discovered an area of Iron Age occupation with a possible associated field system. A concentration of ditches extended over at least one hectare and domestic artefacts were recovered, though no houses were discovered. A pebble surface on the site was confirmed as the foundation for the base of a late-medieval windmill; a mound nearby was probably the base of a later, post-medieval windmill. [Au(adp)] |
