Abstract: |
The site was investigated by 15 machine dug trenches covering 2% of the site area. Only one archaeological feature, an undated quarry pit, probably used for the ad hoc extraction of limestone for walling or building, was recorded during the evaluation. There was also an absence of artefacts from the topsoil and subsoil, only a few sherds of abraded post-medieval pottery being noted. No evidence for any Saxon activity was identified. [Au] |
