Abstract: |
A programme of archaeological observation, investigation, and recording was undertaken during groundwork associated with the erection of two dwellings. Monitoring of the groundworks revealed a dark greyish brown silty clay in the base of the easternmost part of the main service trench. This was most probably a fill of the west part of the moat that once encompassed the 14th century Archbishop's Palace. [Au(adp)] |
