Abstract: |
An archaeological watching brief was undertaken whilst the floor of St James Church was being removed and replaced. Archaeological evidence of the early medieval parish church was recorded along with a single small sherd of medieval pottery. The foundations showed the enlargement of the church in the later medieval period. During the 18th and 19th centuries there was no evidence of any structural alterations, until the Victorian period.
