Abstract: |
<summary>Prior to the redevelopment of Baylys Wharf, which is located within Sutton Harbour, an assessment was carried out to establish the likelihood of archaeological remains surviving in the area. It was discovered that most of the area had been quarried and levelled at some point in the past, and that therefore most of the early shipyard buildings would have been destroyed. However, it was possible that a group of 17th century buildings survived, in which case they should be fully recorded, and the area by the slipways and the foreshore should have watching briefs carried out during construction. {italon}AIP{italoff} |
