Abstract: |
The zone surrounding the study area contained evidence of prehistoric and Roman settlement and activity, which was mainly concentrated on the river gravels. A medieval village and hamlet were recorded within the study area, and the extreme northeast of the study area contained evidence of possible late prehistoric or Roman settlement. The central zone of the study area contained evidence of earthworks and crop-marks which may have been associated with the medieval and post-medieval settlements present. [Au(adp)] |
