Abstract: |
An archaeological evaluation was undertaken on land adjacent to Kya House. No significant archaeological deposits or remains were revealed during the evaluation. Pottery of 18th-19th century date within the layers above the natural might have suggested relatively recent disturbance. The remains of a structure found in Test Pit 1 were probably those of an outbuilding depicted on the 1880 first edition OS map. The building was constructed over a layer containing pottery of 18th-19th century date, suggesting that the structure was of Victorian construction. [Au(abr)] |
