Abstract: |
Two evaluation trenches were excavated prior to the proposed development. The trenches revealed geological strata comprising Head deposits and River Terrace gravels. The geological deposits were covered by layers of sand and sandy gravel, which were probably dumped to level up the site during previous developments. No archaeological features were found. Cartographic and documentary sources suggested that the site was agricultural land until the 1880s. [Au(abr)] |
