Abstract: |
An archaeologcial watching brief was undertaken during the flood defence engineering works at Blackwell Stairs. None of the material removed during the operation was demonstrably earlier than post-medieval. Fragments of clay tobacco pipes were present in all of the recorded layers. No structures were observed or recorded during the watching brief on the foreshore deposits within the dock. [Au(adp)] |
