Abstract: |
An archaeological watching brief was undertaken during the excavation of seventeen test pits and seven boreholes, prior to the submission of an application for planning permission. No archaeological deposits could be positively identified in the test pits and boreholes, although a number of test pits were indicative of archaeological strata. The ground was generally characterised by a thickness of up to several metres of modern made ground. The report concluded that archaeological remains may exist on the site, either within the alluvium, or on top of of, comprising part of the made ground. [Au(adp)] |
