Abstract: |
The study showed that, although there were no known archaeological sites or finds on the proposal site other than the listed building on the street frontage, its location within the historic core of the settlement meant that there was a high potential for archaeological deposits being present. The proposed extension lay within the burgage plot boundaries in existence in the late 19th century, but it was not clear if the presence of the two properties on the street frontage at that time reflected an earlier pattern when the plot was subdivided into two narrower plots.
