Abstract: |
An evaluation was carried out at a proposed development site within the area of the 7th-9th century settlement of Lundenwic. The base of a pit containing animal bone and charcoal flecks was revealed, and a sherd of medieval pottery was found. A post-medieval basement and 17th-18th century floor tiles and paving bricks were recorded. It was concluded that further evaluation or preservation may be necessary within a small part of the site which did not appear to have been basemented. [AIP] |
