Abstract: |
Six evaluation trenches were excavated along the line of a proposed flood diversion channel between the River Nar and the Flood Relief Channel to the south of King's Lynn. The trenches were excavated through marine silts and freshwater peat deposits to a depth of two metres. In one trench, towards the east end of the proposed channel, a ditch was excavated and part of a Grimston ware jug of late medieval date was found in its lower fill. No other archaeological features were observed. [Au] |
