Abstract: |
The site occupied an area of moderate archaeological potential for a number of periods. A medieval farm or hamlet was known to have occupied a small part of the area. Large parts of the site had been quarried and/or developed on the past and truncation of archaeologically relevant levels was expected to be extensive. However, the site was of such a size that the presence of archaeological remains of some sort could reasonably have been predicted and to have survived to a greater or lesser degree on other parts of the area. It was likely that a variety of different archaeological responses and/or mitigation strategies would apply to different sectors of the site. [Au(adp)] |
