Abstract: |
A desk-based assessment of the site and its immediate vicinity was undertaken in order to establish wether surviving archaeological remains were likely to be affected by the proposed scheme for comprehensive residential development. The assessment concluded that there was a general background archaeological potential to this unusually large site; that the relevant made ground/archaeological strata may presently survive quite well (due partly to a lack of recent basements) and that any survivng deposits would be affected by the proposed redevelopment which included an extensive underground car park. The report recommended that it would be prudent to obtain further archaeological/made ground survival from the site itself [Au(Adp)] |
