Abstract: |
A desk-top assessment of a proposed development site which lay adjacent to a post-medieval burial ground was undertaken. Roman quays, a riverside wall and buildings, including a bath house and a forum, had been recorded in the vicinity. Early medieval buildings and later medieval remains, including buildings, wells and revetments, had also been recorded. It was noted that the potential threat to archaeological deposits could not be assessed until further details of the proposed development had been provided. [AIP] |
