Abstract: |
An archaeological desk based assessment and magnetometer survey was undertaken on land which lay in the old ecclesiastical parish of Heavitree. The site lay in close proximity to the site of the Cluniac priory of St James which was founded in 1142 on an earlier ecclesiastical site. The documentary search located evidence concerning the priory whilst the magnetometer survey revealed features which were not related to the priory but may have been of earlier origin. [AIP] |
