Abstract: |
A watching brief and fabric survey was undertaken. The aim of the watching brief was to examine specific parts of the abbey, in order to identify areas of original and rebuilt masonry detail which had not been visible during the initial survey carried out in 1998. The watching brief identified several possible phases of late rebuilding, which largely confirmed to the results of the initial survey; though allowed a more detailed analysis of the fabric than had been possible during the initial survey.
