Abstract: |
In 1991 a successful attempt was made to locate the position of the moat of Wardley Manor. In 1994 a larger section of the moat was excavated mechanically. The moat was only dug to a certain depth for safety reasons and so as not to disturb the primary silt fills. In this way an accurately positioned and reasonable representation of the moat was re-established without impinging on the historically more important lower fills. [AIP] |
