Abstract:
An excavation was carried out at a site where a previous evaluation had revealed the remains of a 17th/18th century glassworks and a 19th century glassworks. During the excavation, c. 390 prehistoric stake holes were revealed. Pits, post holes, pottery and over 1300 pieces of burnt and worked flint were also found. Features possibly associated with an early post-medieval windmill were recorded, including timber posts which may have indicated revetting, and the edge of a pond. Further remains of three glassworking kilns were excavated. [AIP]
