Abstract: |
A desk-based assessment and trial trenching programme was undertaken across the site in advance of proposed development of the site for residential and social housing development. The evaluation indicated that the site had probably been used for agricultural production for at least seven centuries. The desk-based assessment had shown that the site had undergone considerable change over time though these were not always detectable in the archaeological record. All of the excavated deposits yielded evidence that pointed to their being of post-medieval date. [AIP] |
