Abstract: |
Nine trial trenches were excavated within and around the farm complex. These produced information concerning the depth, date and state of preservation of archaeological deposits. Deposits associated with drainage and floor levels, dating from the late medieval period were recovered from a number of trenches. Two trenches were excavated across a moat, one producing substantial deposits of well preserved, organically rich material, whilst the other contained a completely different fill deposit, raising questions as to the methods employed to feed the moat with water.
