Abstract: |
As expected the excavation of the five test pits within the body of the church uncovered large quantities of disarticulated human bone. These deposits, together with other medieval and late post-medieval material are probably associated with the documented raising of the floor levels in the 18th and 19th centuries. The partial remains of several brick vaults were also uncovered by the excavations, but it would appear that any articulated in situ burials lie at depths greater than 0.9m below the existing floor levels.
