Abstract: |
A desktop assessment was undertaken within an area of land which was to be affected by a proposed mineral extraction. The documentary survey showed that the present layout of field systems in the area probably dated from the medieval or early post-medieval period. A field name search indicated the presence of an enclosed area of parkland or Deer Park from 1575, and it was possible that structures associated with activities within the park survived. Various cropmarks were identified, one being circular and the others ditches and a double ditched feature. [AIP] |
