Abstract: |
Evaluation work was undertaken by the Warwickshire Museum for North Warwickshire Borough Council and Warwickshire County Council in advance of development to Polesworth Library. Trial trenching revealed no surviving archaeology that could be associated with either the Anglo-Saxon or later Benedictine nunnery in this location. A layer of ceramic tiles that were discovered are likely to be contemporary with 17th/early 18th century development of the area.[AIP] |
