Abstract: |
The only structural remains identified during the watching brief were two parallel walls which it was thought may have related to a mid 17th century building known as Captains Guys House, however these did not correspond to the plans of that building. The most plausible interpretation therefore was that they were two sides of a broken brick culvert. The description of the brickwork and particularly the mortar, suggested a date within the 18th century. [Au(adp)] |
