Abstract: |
The site was visited on four separate occasions. A large area was stripped, a tarmac road removed and trenches excavated to a depth of 2.5m on average. No archaeology was evident. The stripped area at the southern end of the site produced material of a mid 20th century date. These came from a rubbish pit approximately 1m in depth. A modern pipe trench also cut across the site.
