Abstract: |
The watching brief revealed a number of features and deposits relating to various landscaping activities around the house. The principal discoveries were two walls that once formed part of the terrace arrangements in the grounds of the house and a former gravel path on the south terrace. The base of a statue was also noted. On the North Terrace there was evidence of semi-circular terrace features dating from the late 1600s. This feature had been sealed in c.1774 when a gravel drive or pathway was laid. [Au(abr)] |
