Abstract: |
The watching brief revealed a ditch, the short length of which rendered the interpretation of its form and function difficult. Pottery collected from it suggested that it was contemporary with the Late Bronze Age/Early Iron Age earthwork known as Grimthorpe hillfort, which lay approximately 400 metres to the north.
