Abstract: |
An auger survey was undertaken in the south-eastern part of the foundation garden to investigate a number of visible dark patches in the ground. In eleven of the eighteen auger holes, the auger reached underlying stone. This probably represented stone rubble from features associated with the medieval castle, although the results of the augering on the whole proved to be fairly inconclusive. [AIP] |
