Abstract: |
The watching brief was undertaken during the insertion of drainage runs under a new road along the southern boundary of the site. Blue grey and light brown grey alluvium, perhaps representing two inundations was observed across the site. To the west of the site a 4.3 metre wide ditch, the base of which was filled with peat, was found aligned north-south and running parallel to Harrow Manor Way. Covering the ditch was a 1 metre thick deposit of brown alluvium apparently filling a hollow measuring at least 19.5 metres across. [Au(abr)] |
