Abstract: |
An evaluation was carried out at the proposed site of a students' hall of residence. Mills had lain along the River Hogsmill, which ran through the site, since at least the 12th century. The site itself was occupied by Middle Mill from 1663 or earlier until the mid-19th century. During the evaluation, the remains of two timber revetments with associated post-medieval artefacts were revealed. Timber foundation piles for a building were also found. [AIP] |
