Abstract:
An archaeological evaluation was carried out on the site of a proposed new residential building. The evaluation comprised the excavation of approximately 2% of the site by means of a mechanically excavated trial trench and a single hand-dug trial pit. A well-defined bank and possible platform at the east end of the site was shown to be modern in origin. The results of the investigation indicated that there was a low to negligible potential for the presence of significant archaeological deposits within the development area. [Au]
