Abstract: |
An archaeological watching brief was undertaken during the excavation of 16 small piles. At the base of all sections revealed 18th century made ground. Above that were the remains of some footings relating to the 19th century light industrial building or warehouse, still standing immediately to the north of the site at number 1 to 3 Morocco Street. The footings were overlain with made ground containing 19th century material, including ashes coal waste and brick rubble. To the south of the trench some 19th century made ground formed the ground levelling beneath the floor boards that were still visible in section. [Au(abr)] |
