Abstract: |
Topsoil stripping of the area of the new car park produced a small quantity of worked flint. Directly underneath the topsoil and overlying 'natural' was a spread of soil that contained some worked flint, burnt flint and charcoal, perhaps a remnant of subsoil preserved in a shallow hollow. One piece of flint from the car park area may have been Mesolithic, with the remainder of possible Late Neolithic/Early Bronze Age date. [AIP] |
