Abstract: |
An archaeological evaluation on the site identified a natural hollow or channel, with natural accumulated deposits. Within the deposits were some late medieval pottery, which suggested proximity to a settlement. A timber building with a clay floor overlay these deposits. Above this was a stone structure of 18th century date. In the 19th century the site was turned over to horticultural activities, and ceramic land drains were inserted. [Au(abr)] |
