Abstract: |
The development site was surrounded by Roman cemetery sites. Three evaluation trenches were excavated by machine. No Roman or medieval remains were found during the evaluation. The natural topography in the immediate vicinity of the development site appeared to have been truncated rather than raised, as was the case for the surrounding land. A stone drain and part of a brick-built structure, both 19th century in date, were found and recorded. No significant archaeological remains were encountered. [Au(adp)] |
