Abstract: |
An archaeological evaluation was undertaken in respect of planning proposals for new student accommodation. The evaluation revealed a series of naturally former colluvial and alluvial layers to a depth of over 1m. In places these deposits had been truncated by terracing, probably when the recently demolished buildings on the site were constructed. The remains of a ?farm structure were observed in one of the trenches associated with a modern ceramic pipe; this structure probably dated to the 19th century. No artefacts were recovered from the excavated trenches and no deposits of archaeological significance were encountered. [Au(abr)] |
