Abstract: |
An archaeological watching brief was undertaken during groundworks. Three trenches were excavated but revealed no surviving archaeological remains. They did, however, show natural sandy gravel at the base of each trench, sloping gradually downwards from south-west to north east. This was overlain by modern make-up deposits and garden soils. No earlier deposits or finds were encountered, all cultural materials found within the upper deposits dated from the late 19th century to the present. [Au(abr)] |
